CARROLLTON — Elli Colian had three goals and Ellie Tucker had three assists in West Branch’s 6-0 win over Carrollton in girls soccer action on Thursday. Sammi Beatty added two goals. Cambrie Nezbeth had a goal and two assists. Hallie Singer had an assist.

The Warriors are 11-0-1 and 4-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. Branch leads Salem by a half game and will host the Quakers on Oct. 1 for the title.

Before then, West Branch will play at Cardinal Mooney on Monday.

United 8, Warren JFK 1

HANOVERTON — United Local rolled past Warren JFK 8-1 in boys soccer play Thursday.

Jude Andrea scored twice to lead United (5-5-1), while Zach Blake and Gavin Coffee each had a goal and two assists. Josh Hawkins, Cayden Pitts, Danny Readshaw and RJ Salmen added a goal apiece. Liam Jones chipped in an assist.

JFK’s lone goal came from Dimitrio Hazinouis off an assist from Ethan Love. Aiden Gundersen made three saves in goal for United, while Brennan Sanata had five saves for JFK (1-9-1).

United hosts Lake Center Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Mooney 3, West Branch 2

YOUNGSTOWN — Cardinal Mooney stopped West Branch’s boys soccer team 3-2 on Thursday night.

West Branch fell to 9-3, while Mooney is 8-2-1.

West Branch is at Salem on Tuesday.

Dukes win EBC title

BELOIT — Marlington won the Eastern Buckeye Conference girls tennis title outright with a 5-0 win over West Branch on Thursday.

West Branch is 4-9 and 2-4 in the league, while Marlington is 6-0 in the EBC.

West Branch will take part in the Div. II sectional tournament on Tuesday in Boardman and Struthers.

SALEM — Salem’s girls tennis team defeated Alliance 5-0 on Thursday.

Salem will take part in the Div. II sectional tournament on Tuesday with the singles at Boardman and doubles at Struthers.
