EAST LIVERPOOL — Beaver Local swept the singles matches to down East Liverpool, 3-2, in girls tennis action Thursday at Thompson Park.
FIRST SINGLES: Kara Wain (BL) def. Kailynn Kirby, 6-0, 6-0.
SECOND SINGLES: Emily Wain (BL) def. Isabella Johnson, 6-0, 6-3.
THIRD SINGLES: Isabella Lucas (BL) def. Gabrielle Johnson, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

BELOIT — The West Branch girls tennis team played for the fourth day in a row and blanked Alliance, 5-0, Thursday.
The Warriors improve to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. They will play Tuesday at Salem.

ALLIANCE — Marlington defeated Salem for the second time this season, 3-2, in girls tennis action Thursday.
The Quakers are 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. They will play at East Palestine at 4 p.m. Monday.

Beaver Local 3, Steubenville 2
STEUBENVILLE — The Beaver Local boys soccer team rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit and Austin Holmes scored the game-winning goal with six minutes remaining for a 3-2 win over Steubenville on Thursday.
Brayden Price got the Beavers back to even in the second half with goal off an assist from Kaden Mays and another on a penalty kick.
Big Red took a 1-0 lead 52 seconds into the match and scored another goal with 30 minutes to go in the first half.
Cole long had nine saves in goal for Beaver Local.
The Beavers (6-2) will play at Weir on Saturday.
Beaver Local lost the junior varsity match, 2-0, in one half of play. Grady Reed made four saves in goal.
East Liverpool 9, Edison 0
EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool’s girls soccer team celebrated senior night with a 9-0 win over Edison on Thursday at Patterson Field.
East Liverpool is 2-4-1 and hosts Crestview on Saturday.
Poland 2, Salem 0
SALEM — Salem’s boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season as Poland shutout the Quakers 2-0 on Thursday.
Salem is 6-1-2, while Poland is 7-0-2. The Quakers are at Carrollton on Tuesday.
Oak Glen 8, Tyler 1
NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen’s girls soccer team beat Tyler 8-1 on Thursday.
Oak Glen (3-4-2) scored two goals in the first half and six in the second half.
Oak Glen is at University on Saturday.
