Youngstown State Cross Country Invitational

CANFIELD — The Youngstown State Invitational will be held Saturday with college and high school races at the Gorby Family Championship Cross Country Course on the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm.

Saturday’s schedule is the YSU community/open 5K race at 9 a.m., women’s college 5K race at 10 a.m., men’s college 8K race at 10:45 a.m., girls high school 5K race at 11:30 a.m., boys 5K race at 12:15 p.m. and youth 2-mile run at 1 p.m.

Nine high schools are entered including Columbiana and Springfield Local.

Parking is at the Canfield Fairgrounds across the street with a $10 fee per vehicle.

7th Grade: Salem won 25-7, 25-16 Thursday. Salem (12-0), Kyleah Van Dyne 3 aces and 4 kills, Chloe Burns aces and 4 kills, Madison Marx led in assists.

8th Grade: Salem won 25-4, 25-8. Salem, Avary Williams 15 aces, Brinsley Witherspoon 8 aces and 3 kills, Ila Lee 3 kills.
