Three area teams ranked

Three area teams are ranked in the Associated Press state high school football poll released Tuesday.

East Palestine (4-0) is 16th in Div. VII, West Branch (3-1) is 17th in Div. IV and Crestview (4-0) is 26th in Div. VI.

The teams will play Friday with East Palestine traveling to Southern Local, West Branch hosting Howland and Crestview entertaining Ravenna Southeast.

Salem tops West Branch

SALEM — Salem’s girls tennis team was up to the task with a 4-1 win over West Branch on Tuesday.

West Branch is 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

West Branch hosts Warren JFK today.

Salem hosts East Liverpool today.

FIRST SINGLES: Hadley Carlisle (S) def. Cailyn Brink 6-0, 6-0.

SECOND SINGLES: Memphis Haueter (S) def. Audrey Miner 6-1, 6-0.

THIRD SINGLES: Meadow Anderson (S) def. Annabelle McGuire 6-0, 6-2.

FIRST DOUBLES: Eva Minto-Grace Zellers (S) def. Leah Irey-Addison Bloor (WB) 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.

SECOND DOUBLES: Landry Simon-Ava Cope (WB) def. Haylee Foor-Devin Shafer (S) 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-8.
