CADIZ — Beaver Local’s Britton Hickman tallied an 83 to snag the last district individual qualifier spot on Monday at the Div. II sectional boys golf tournament at Cadiz Country Club.

St. Clairsville (316), Barnesville (321), West Muskingum (324) and Martins Ferry (338) were the four team district qualifiers who advanced to next Monday’s district tournament at Eagle Sticks in Zanesville.

The four invididual district qualifiers not on a qualifying team were Union Local’s Lincoln Smith (78), Meadowbrook’s Kam Winnett (82), Union Local’s Landen Hanasky (82) and Hickman.

The top district two teams and two individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the Div. II state tournament set for Oct. 6-7 at NCR Country Club South Course in Kettering.

Waynedale (321), Orrville (326) and Tuslaw (334) earned the three qualifying spots, while Akron Manchester’s Drew Mothersbaugh (79), Marlington’s Ben Warner (79) and South Range’s Jack Carey (79) earned the individual district berths.

ZANESVILLE — Minerva’s girls golf team won the Div. I sectional on Monday at Eagle Sticks with a 344.

For the Lions, Peyton Beaumariage won the tournament with a 79, while Emery Sell had an 83, Delaney Sell 87 and Mady Bartley 95.

East Liverpool’s Hadley Dobbins finished 37th (114).

The district tournament will be held on Oct. 2 at Lancaster Golf Club. The top three district teams and three individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the Div. I state tournament set for Oct. 12-13 at Akron Firestone Country Club’s Fazio Course.
