Columbiana rules EOAC
SALEM — Columbiana’s boys golfers are masters of the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.
The Clippers had the five lowest rounds, highlighted by medalist David Masters, to win another EOAC tournament Thursday at Salem Hills Golf & Country Club.
Columbiana has won all nine EOAC titles and 12 straight league titles.
The Clippers shot an 18-hole score of 327 for a 57-stroke victory over runner-up United.
Junior David Masters took top honors with an 8-over-par 80, one stroke ahead of teammate Luke Struharik. Also for Columbiana, defending champion Trent Hall had an 82, Nick Klindworth 84 and Geoffrey Malcomson 87.
Two other golfers broke 90 — United’s Oliver Kiko with an 87 and Adam Looman with an 89.

SALEM — The Beaver Local boys golf team improved to 12-1 by downing Salem, 180-188, at Salem Hills on Thursday.
For the Beavers, Owen Hill was the top scorer with a 42, followed by Nathan Pusateri with a 45, Britton Hickman 46 and Mikey Druschel 47.
For the Quakers, Caden Arcuri and Cason Citino had 43s, Eli James 49 and Donald Blackburn and Tanner James 53s.
Beaver Local will play Oak Glen, East Liverpool an Madonna in a quad match Monday at Mountaineer Woodview.
Salem (8-9) will finish off the regular season by hosting Columbiana at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
East Liverpool 165, Crestview 166
CALCUTTA — East Liverpool edged Crestview, 165-166, in boys golf action Thursday at Beaver Creek Meadows.
Garrett Cooper led the Potters with a 36, followed by Donovan Shallcross 40, Kam Engle 43 and Carstin Suznevich 46.
For the Rebels, Caleb Booth had a 39, Braydon Gilbert and Grant Snyder 41s and Hunter Panezott 45.
Crestview 217, Garfield 219
NEGLEY — Elaina Louk shot a 45 in leading the Crestview girls golf team past Garrettsville Garfield, 217-219, Thursday at the East Palestine Country Club.
Also for the Rebels, Ally Farley had a 51, Maye Miller 54 and Dessa Huston 69.
Scarlett Adkins had a 52 to lead Garfield.
Minerva 176, West Branch 196
MINERVA — The Minerva boys golf team tied a school record with its 15th win over the season, 176-196, over West Branch on Thursday at Great Trail Golf Course.
The Lions improve to 15-2 overall and 9-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference. They set the stage for a showdown with Carrollton for the EBC title at the conference tournament Wednesday at Pleasant View.
Leaders for Minerva were Wil Blackburn with a 38, Tyson Fetty 40, Karson Lutz parred the final three holes for a 48 and Hudson Peterson had a 50.
Massillon Invitational
MASSILLON — The Canfield girls were first and Minerva second at the Massillon Invitational on Thursday.
Canfield had a winning score of 328 at the Legends of Massillon, followed by Minerva at 383.
For the Lions, Peyton Beaumariage had 91, Emery Sell 92, Delaney Sell 93 and Mady Bartley 107.
Minerva will return to the Legends for the Stark County Championships at 8a.m. Saturday.
