Beavers escape United

HANOVERTON — Peyton Dunn had two goals, while Leah Stewart had a goal and two assists as Beaver Local struck down United 4-2 on Wednesday in girls soccer action.

Emily Saphore had the Beavers’ other goals. Tatum Duncan had seven saves.

Beaver Local (8-1) is at Indian Creek on Saturday.

United is 4-4-2 and will host East Liverpool on Tuesday.

Salem 3, Minerva 1

SALEM — Salem’s girls soccer team earned a 3-1 victory over Minerva on Wednesday at Sebo Stadium.

Senior captain Karlie Sampson powered Salem’s attack, scoring all three goals. She was set up by assists from senior Emilee Lewis and junior Emily Sinsley.

In goal, senior captain Paige Menough recorded16 saves.

Salem is 6-2-1 and 1-0-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

Salem will be at Girard on Saturday.

Columbiana 3,

Badger 1

KISMAN — Annah Clemmer, Josie Hepler and Kendall Montgomery all scored to lead Columbiana’s girls soccer team to a 3-1 win over Badger on Wednesday.

Hepler, Clemmer and Larah Chamberlain had assists.

Kyla Hogan had six saves in goal.

Columbiana is 3-3-2 and will host Bristol on Saturday.

West Branch 4,

Marlington 0

ALLIANCE — West Branch’s girls soccer team scored all of its goals in the second half in a 4-0 win over Marlington on Wednesday.

Scoring for the Warriors were Ellie Tucker, Sammi Beatty, Caidee Schroeder and Cambrie Nezbeth. Adding assists were Lexi McFaland with two, along with Schroeder and Nezbeth each with one. Audrey Eaton earned the shutout making three saves.

West Branch is 7-0-1 and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

The Warriors are at Poland on Saturday.

Champion 4,

Crestview 1

COLUMBIANA — Sydney Wellman scored for Crestview, but the Rebels took a 3-1 loss to Champion on Wednesday in girls soccer action.

Mazi Hoon added an assist.

Clarice Harroff and Savannah Neville combined for five saves in goal.

Crestview is 1-4-2 and will play at East Lverpool on Saturday.
