Beaver Local rolls on

EAST LIVERPOOL — Beaver Local’s girls soccer team is hitting on all cylinders.
Led by the Beavers took down East Liverpool 10-0 on Monday to improve to 7-1 on the season.
It was the Beavers’ second win over the Potters this season with the first being an 11-0 rout on Aug. 15 to open the season.
For the Beavers, Leah Stewart and Peyton Dunn each scored three goals, with Stewart also adding two assists to lead the Beavers’ attack. Jansen Ours had a goal and two assists, while Sophia Smith, Alexis Lasure and Riley Springer each added a goal.
In goal, Tatum Duncan made three saves and Teneille Diaz-Wilson stopped two shots to preserve the shutout.
Beaver Local was ranked 16th in Div. IV by MaxPreps’ rating system coming into Monday’s contest. In the Youngstown area, the Beavers are ranked fourth behind West Branch, Niles and Mooney.
In Class 4A in the OVAC the Beavers command a big lead in the standings with Indian Creek a distant second. The OVAC 4A playoffs are scheduled the week of Sept. 22.
Beaver Local is at United on Wednesday.
East Liverpool is 1-4-1 and will host Edison on Thursday.
Crestview 2, Pymatuning Valley 2
ANDOVER — The Crestview and Pymantuning Valley girls soccer teams played to a 2-2 tie Monday.
Tonight we played Pymatuning Valley and tied 2-2.
Mazi Hoon and Isabella Novak scored goals for the Rebles. Adri Hodge had an assists.
Freshman Clarice Harroff made 18 saves in goal.
Crestview (1-3-2) will play at Champion on Wednesday.
Wheeling Central 6, Columbiana 3
WHEELING, W.Va. — Wheeling Central Catholic took down Columbiana 6-3 on Monday in girls soccer action.
The Clippers are 2-3-2 and host Badger on Wednesday.

BOYS
United 9, Mathews 0
HANOVERTON — United Local’s boys soccer team downed Mathews 9-0 on Monday.
For the Eagles, Josh Hawkins had four goals, while Gavin Coffee added two goals and an assist. Judea Andrea had a goal and two assists, while Cayden Pitts and Dylan Williams had one goal each. Zach Blake chipped in two assists.
In goal, Seth Blake had one save and Aiden Gundersen added two more. United is 3-5. United hosts Columbiana on Sept. 17.
Heartland 2, Steubenville CC 1
NORTH LIMA — Christian Hammond and Paul Bender scored to lead Heartland Christian to a 2-1 win over Steubenville Catholic Central.
Caden Jones had an assist.
Heartland is 3-4-1 and hosts Bristol on Thursday.
