Beaver Local blanks East Liverpool
EAST LIVERPOOL — Beaver Local’s boys soccer team grabbed its fifth shutout of the season with a 5-0 win over East Liverpool on Tuesday at Patterson Field.
Beaver Local moves to 5-2. The Beavers are ranked 31st in the state in Div. IV according to MaxPreps. In the Youngstown metro area Beaver Local is ninth.
In the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference, Beaver Local sits second in Class 4A behind St. Clairsville.
Loyd Hendershot had four saves for the Potters.
Beaver Local is at Steubenville on Thursday.
East Liverpool (2-3-1) hosts Crestview on Saturday.

BELOIT — Marlington’s boys soccer team handed West Branch its second loss of the season with a 1-0 win on Tuesday.
Lance Myers had five saves for the Warriors, 6-2 and 1-1 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.
Marlington is 5-1-2.
West Branch hosts Alliance on Tuesday.

Oak Glen 5, Indian Creek 1
WINTERSVILLE — Oak Glen’s girls soccer team was a 5-1 winner over Indian Creek on Tuesday.
The Golden Bears scored two goals in the first half and three in the second half.
Oak Glen is 2-4-2 and hosts Tyler on Thursday.
Steubenville 8, Oak Glen 0
STEUBENVILLE –The Steubenville boys soccer team netted an early goal against Oak Glen, and senior standout Cole Bowers recorded a hat trick as Big Red shut out the Golden Bears, 8-0, via mercy rule Tuesday night on Reno Saccoccia Field.
Big Red is 4-4-1, while Oak Glen drops to 1-5-1.
Chase Beall and Landon Bowers each netted a pair of goals for the victors, while Drew Stimpert produced one. Also, Tad Loot contributed two assists, while Joey Rice, Josiah Rea and Beall each chipped in with one.
