Beaver Local edges Branch

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local’s girls golf team edged West Branch on a tiebreaking 178-178 win on Friday at Beaver Meadows.
For the Beavers, Brenna Jones had a 40, Mya Anderson 45, Emilie Druschel 45 and McKenzie Ash 48. Juliana Johnston’s 52 was the tiebreaker.
West Branch is 1-2 in dual matches.
Leading West Branch was Isabella Linger with a 41. Also scoring for the Warriors were Emma McLaughlin (43), Katelyn Schank (46) and Erin Albert (48). Gianna Strotz (57) was the tiebreaker for West Branch.
Beaver Local and West Branch will play on Tuesday at Westville Lake.
Tannenhauf Invitational
ALLIANCE — West Branch finished 19th in the Tannenhauf High School Boys Invitational on Friday at Tannenhauf Golf Club.
Gavin Clay and Bennett Biggs paced the Warriors with identical rounds of 94. Lucas Dyke followed with a 96, while Mason Runk carded a 102 and Ashton Clay shot 109.
West Branch will be back on the course Tuesday for the Northeast Ohio Invitational at Good Park Golf Course in Akron with a 7:30 a.m. start time.
Weir High tri
NEW CUMBERLAND, W.Va. — Weir High came out on top in a tri-meet on Thursday at Woodview Golf Course, carding a team score of 152 over nine holes to finish ahead of Indian Creek (181) and Oak Glen (182).
Weir High was led by Evan Kaczmarek and Guy Meneely, who each shot 36. Isaiah Smith followed closely with a 37 and Micah Hvizdak rounded out the top four with a 43.
Indian Creek’s low round came from Garrin Clark, who posted a 40. Kenneth Feist-Winland, Jay Snyder and Riley Guskea each shot 47 for the Redskins.
Oak Glen was paced by Zach Jenkins with a 41 and Gannon Cline with a 43. Marleah Lough and Jack Cline each added a 49 for the Golden Bears.
