Beaver Local defeats United
CALCUTTA — Beaver Local’s boys golf team recorded its second win with a 150-180 victory over United on Friday at Beaver Creek Meadows.
Owen Hill and Mikey Druschel shared low medalist honors with matching rounds of 37. Braxton Hickman and Nick McKenzie added a 38s, while Britton Hickman and Andre Wiegand each shot 42.
The Beavers (2-0) will compete next in an 18-hole tournament on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Old Avalon in Warren, beginning at 9 a.m. The event will feature 10 teams.
Rebels fall at home
LISBON — Brookfield topped Crestview 149-164 in boys golf action Friday at Beaver Creek Meadows.
Brookfield was led by Cody Davidson and Joseph Hook, who each shot 35 to pace the Warriors. Braydon Demaria added a 39, while Bray Coleman followed with a 40.
Crestview’s Elaina Louk led the Rebels with a 39. Grant Snyder shot 41, while Braydon Gilbert and Derek Duvall each carded 42.
Crestview returns to action Monday against United at Beaver Creek Meadows.
Quakers roll past Lisbon
SALEM — Salem picked up its first win of the season with a 180-248 victory over Lisbon on Friday at Salem Hills.
Cason Citino led the way for the Quakers with a 44. Eli James and Gabe Leek each shot 45, while Tanner James followed with a 46.
Logan Sturgeon paced Lisbon with a 58. Mason Jones carded a 62, followed by Zachery Johnson (63) and Camron Bardo (65).
Salem improves to 1-2 overall and will host Springfield Local at 3 p.m. Monday at Salem Hills.
