Parker Newburn had a single, double and two RBIs for the Eagles. Quentin Taylor added two hits, while Jason Pratt had two hits and an RBI.
Newburn got the win on the mound with nine strikeouts an two walks.
Mason Pitts had Southern’s lone hit.
Brody Brown took the loss with two strikeouts and seven walks in three innings.
United (16-5, 9-0) can clinch a share of the EOAC title with a win over Wellsville at home.
Southern is 2-12 and 0-9 in the league. The Indians are at East Palestine on Monday.

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local stunned Columbiana 10-4 on Thursday.
Paxton Grimes paced the Beavers with two hits and three RBIs. J Boyd had a double, while Isaac Dailey added two hits.
Braxton Hickman 11 was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts and three walks in 6 1/3 innings.
Max Conway had two hits and two RBIs for Columbiana, while Dan Goehring had two hits.
Avery Young was the losing pitcher with five strikeouts and four walks.
Beaver Local is 4-14 and will host Crestview today.

UNITY — Kealin Simon had a double and RBI to lead East Palestine to a 3-1 win over Heartland on Thursday at Ace of Diamonds.
Phoenix Marvin was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts and three walks.
Jack Morgan had a double for Heartland. Alex Hamilton took the loss with four strikeouts and a walk.
East Palestine is 13-7 and hosts Girard today.
Heartland is 3-13 and is at Bristol on Wednesday.
