Beaver Local finishes baseball season like it started
MINERVA — Beaver Local’s baseball team bowed out of the Div. IV sectional tournament with an 8-0 loss to Minerva on Tuesday.
Braydon Wood struck out eight and walked one in the winning effort for the Lions.
Mikey Druschel and A.J. Bowser had singles for the Beavers.
Paxton Grimes took the loss with a strikeout and three walks in five innings.
Beaver Local ends its campaign at 6-16-1, including losses to Minerva in the first game and last game.
Minerva is 9-14 and will play at Millersburg West Holmes on Wednesday in the district semifinal.

Cambridge 16, East Liverpool 3
CAMBRIDGE — East Liverpool’s baseball season wrapped up with a 16-3 loss in five innings to Cambridge in a Div. IV sectional opener on Tuesday.
East Liverpool ends the season at 1-21. Kasen Ramsey had a double for the Potters. Donovan Shallcross took the loss with four walks and no strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
Cambridge (13-11) will play at No. 2 seed Carrollton on Wednesday in the distrct semifinal.

Crestview 8, Jackson-Milton 3
NORTH JACKSON — Luke Julian had a double, single and three RBIs to lead Crestview to an 8-3 win over Jackson-Milton in regular season baseball play on Tuesday. Kyle Booth added two hits. Isaac Unkefer had three strikeouts and a walk in six innings for the Rebels.
Crestview (10-12) hosts Berkshire in a tournament game on Friday.

BELOIT — Grady Close had two doubles and two RBIs, while Anthony Perry had a double and an RBI in West Branch’s 9-1 regular season win over United on Tuesday.
Charlie Biskup and Jeremiah Thomas added two hits each.
Thomas was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts and no walks in two innings.
Jason Pratt had two hits for United.
Parker Newburn was the losing pitcher with a strikeout and a walk in two innings.
West Branch (10-17) is at Girard for a tournament game on Thursday.
United (19-7) is set to play at Field on Saturday.

Salem 12, Western Reserve 4
SALEM — Troy Gibson, Bairon Exline, Braydon Van Dyne and Colin Riesen all had two hits each in Salem’s 12-4 win over Western Reserve on Tuesday in regular season baseball.
Keagan Sommers and Van Dyne had doubles.
Brendon Rocha was the winning pitcher with two strikeouts and three walks in five innings.
Salem is 3-19 and is at Hubbard on Thursday for a tournament game.
