Beavers overpower Potters

EAST LIVERPOOL — Beaver Local’s hot start to the softball season continued with a 13-1 win over East Liverpool on Monday at Patterson Field.

The Beavers are 3-1.

Brylee Curtis led the way for the winners with two singles, a double and two RBIs. Ciara Call had a single, double and three RBIs. Brenna Jones, Ally Wright, Calleigh Eells and, Tori Druschel all had doubles.

Henrich got the win with three strikeouts and three walks in seven innings.

Cate Davis had a home run for the Potters. She also took the loss with six strikeouts and a walk in seven innings.

East Liverpool (2-5) is slated to play at East Palestine today.

Beaver Local is scheduled to play East Liverpool again on Wednesday with site to be determined.

Oak Glen 1

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Wheeling Central Catholic snapped Oak Glen’s three-game win streak with a 3-1 victory on Monday.

Addie Smith and Kayla Wright had doubles for the Bears, 6-4.

Maddie Murray took the loss with a strikeout and walk in two innings of work.

Oak Glen is schedule to play at Edison today.

Brookfield 7

COLUMBIANA — Crestview came back from an early three-run deficit to down Brookfield 10-7 on Monday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference action.

Chloe Stoops had two doubles and two singles for the winners. Alivia Shetler had a single, double and two RBIs. E Snyder added a double and RBI.

Makayla McKee got the win with five strikeouts and a walk in five innings of relief.

Crestview (5-1) is at Brookfield today.

Malvern 16, Leetonia 3

MALVERN — Leetonia suffered a 16-3 defeat in five innings to Malvern on Monday.

Payton Gray and Rileigh Spotleson had hits for the Bears.

Audrey Ellis-Russell took the loss for the Bears with three strikeouts and six walks in three innings.

Leetonia (0-2) hosts Heartland on Thursday.

Lisbon 16, Southern 0

SALINEVILLE — Brady Carpenter struck out 10 and walked none while giving up only one hit in Lisbon’s 16-0 win over Southern in five innings on Monday.

Ashton Hinchliffe had four hits to lead the Devil attack. Mason Jones added a single, double and five RBIs. Bryce Esarey had two hits and three RBIs.

Walker Tice took the loss for Southern with two strikeouts and five walks in 2 2/3 innings.

Lisbon (1-0) is at Toronto today.

Southern (0-3) is at Lisbon on Wednesday.
