Final buzzer for Shale
LISBON -- The Columbiana County Basketball Coaches Association closed up the Shale Tavern & Grille around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
The restaurant east of Lisbon was scheduled to close for good Sunday night, but did so on Saturday after running out of food. A steady stream of customers on Sunday were turned away by a note on the door.
The county boys and girls basketball coaches had a prior reservation and the business only opened on Sunday for them.
The Columbiana County All-Star teams as voted on by coaches will be released in Tuesday's paper. Now the coaches will be looking for another meeting place next year.
The Shale Tavern & Grille had been in business since 2012.
