Beavers have a devil of a time with St. Clairsville

CALCUTTA — St. Clairsville used a 21-point fourth quarter to rally past Beaver Local, 59-53, on Friday night.
The Red Devils snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 16-6. The Beavers lost their third in a row to drop to 14-8.
Beaver Local took a 32-26 halftime lead thanks to 8-of-15 shooting in the second quarter. Matt Anderson and Hunter Warrick hit three-pointers and Owen Hill scored six points, including a basket off an offensive rebound at the buzzer.
The Beavers led 41-38 through three quarters before the Red Devils surged ahead in the fourth quarter.
Beaver Local will open Division IV sectional play at Eastern Buckeeye Conference co-champion Carrollton (13-6) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Crestview 67, Southeast 46
RAVENNA –Crestview’s boys basketball team recorded a 67-46 win over Southeast on Friday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Grey Division action.
Jameson English had 28 points and four steals for the Rebels. Jonathan Best added 23 points.
The Rebels have won three straight.
Crestview is 9-13 and 7-7 in the conference.
The Rebels will be at South Range in a Div. V sectional contest on Feb. 22.

West Branch 54, Girard 34
BELOIT — Cooper Anderson and 14 points and 11 rebounds to power West Branch to a 54-34 win over Girard on Friday.
Jeremiah Thomas added 13 points for the Warriors, 11-11. Camden Lane had 12 points and four rebounds. Gavin Gregory had seven rebounds.
Girard is 12-10.
West Branch won the jayvee game, 62-36. Grady Hirst had 22 points for the winners.
West Branch will play at Mentor Lake Catholic on Feb. 21 in a Div. IV sectional contest.

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Sophomore point guard Mason Kell had a career-high 17 points and five assists in leading Oak Glen past Harrison Central, 54-47, Tuesday.
Noah Willey contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Golden Bears, who improve to 6-14.
Oak Glen shot 22-of-29 from the foul line, including 10-of-14 in the fourth quarter for the victory.
Harrison Central, led by Brady Elliott with 20 points, dropped to 7-15.
Oak Glen also won the junior varsity game, 39-37, as Chase Hartung hit a layup at the buzzer after a Jaxon Deremer steal. Hartung and Aidan Dawson each scored 12 points for the Golden Bears.
Oak Glen will host John Marshall on Tuesday and wrap up the regular season by hosting Brooke on Feb. 25.
