ATWATER -- Several area teams took to the mats on Saturday at the Waterloo D3 Classic.
For Crestview, Kolbi Willis (190) and Trey Horst (126) won. Levi Coppersmith was second at 132. Levi Persing (150) and Steven Tigelman (285) were third. Finishing fourth were Elijah Scherer (165), Josh Smith (157), Marissa Smith (106) and Trevor McElhaney (144).
For United, Chance Cope won at 175, while Colin Liput (132), Maverick Lacey (120), Thomas Brown (138) and William Gundersen were second. Carson Roller (285) was third, while Cannon Casto (120), Lee Mitchell (132) and Payne Graybeal (190) were fourth.
For Wellsville, Nic Crow (150), Colton Malone (215) and Leland Monte (215) were second. Austin Dotson (175), Dane Dowling (144), Jake Bates (126) and Xavier Pullie (215) were fourth.
For East Palestine, Blaine Thompson (132) and Jeremiah Oldaker (126) were third. Finishing fourth for the Bulldogs were Alex Kidder (175) and Tommy Beatty (165).
For Leetonia, Jake Riffee was second at 285, while Dylan Bennett was third at 215. Caden Martin (132) was fourth.
Runner-up finish
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Noah Schmidt led Oak Glen with a second-place finish at 285 pounds on Saturday at the Nurse Pro Plus tournament at University High School.
Also for the Golden Bears, Aiden Anderson was fifth at 113. Greg Sauers (190) and Richie Gudino (215) were sixth.
Oak Glen finished ninth out of the 21-team field.
