Lisbon back at practice

LISBON -- Lisbon's football team is planning on playing Friday's home game against Waterloo.

The Blue Devils sat out last week's Fairport Harding game as a non-COVID respiratory illness affected multiple players and coaches.

The team practiced on Monday and was only missing one regular varsity player according to coach Bill Meek. Several younger players who have the illness are being kept away for the time being.

Meek, who is also getting over the illness, said it has been hard to deal with personally because "it just keeps hanging on." He said he was tested by urgent care to get an identification on the virus, but there was an error in the testing process so he wasn't able to obtain that information.

Meek said he's thankful for the cooler temperatures this week and thinks that it will be easier on the players who still have some issues with coughing.
