CALCUTTA — Peyton Dunn scored two goals as the Beaver Local girls soccer team beat Oak Glen, 2-1, in an Ohio Valley Athletic Conference 4A third-place match Saturday.

Dunn scored the game winner off an assists from Riley Springer with less than four minutes remaining.

Oak Glen missed a penalty kick with 2:50 left as Beaver Local’s Sophia Smith recorded six saves in goal.

The teams played to a 1-1 tie in the first half as Dunn scored and Oak Glen’s Angie Polly got on a goal on a free kick

The Beavers improve to 8-6 and will host Ursuline on Thursday.

The Golden Bears drop to 5-8-3 heading into today’s match at Wheeling Central.
