LISBON -- Lisbon is back in the winning column.
The Devils dialed in a 20-6 win over Waterloo on Friday to earn coach Bill Meek's first career head coaching win.
It came after the Blue Devils sat out last week due to a respiratory illness affecting several players and coaches.
Waterloo scored first but the Devils got back on track as Luke Kraft hauled in a 23-yard pass from Grant Minor to set up a Minor 1-yard touchdown run to make it 6-6.
Ashton Hinchliffe had an 11-yard touchdown run up the middle with 6:32 left in the first half to put the Devils in front for good at 13-6.
The game got started late due to lightning delays and the second half didn't start until 9:53 p.m.
Lisbon (1-1) will host East Palestine in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference opener next Friday.
East Palestine 32, Bridgeport 0
EAST PALESTINE -- A weather delay only caused a slight delay in East Palestine's 32-0 win over Bridgeport in a battle of Bullogs on Friday night.
East Palestine moved to 2-1 for the first time since 2016.
East Palestine took a 10-0 lead with five minutes remaining in the first quarter as bad Bridgeport snap from its own 25-yard line resulted in a safety.
RJ May hauled in a 15-yard touchdown pass from Owen Jurjavic with 6.4 seconds left in the second quarter. Jurjavcic ran for the two-point conversion to put East Palestine up 18-0 at halftime.
East Palestine led 24-0 through three quarters.
Jurjavcic finished with 149 yards rushing on 23 carries and two touchdowns. Zach Schnelle added nine carries for 89 yards. Peyton Rutledge had three carries for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Bridgeport drops to 1-2.
East Palestine will travel to Lisbon for the EOAC opener next Friday.
St. Clairsville 27, Beaver Local 21
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Beaver Local stayed out late Friday night -- and into Saturday morning.
The Beavers waited out lightning delays and were beaten by St. Clairsville, 27-21, in a game that ended at 12:21 a.m. Saturday.
Dino Burk scored four touchdowns for the Red Devils, including a 57-yarder with 2:39 to play for a 27-14 lead.
On the next offensive play, Beaver Local's Brock Severs hauled in a 60-yard touchdown pass from Taylor Johnston to cut the deficit to 27-21. The Beavers got to the St. Clairsville 43-yard line with 12 seconds to play, but threw two incompletions.
St. Clairsville took a 14-7 halftime lead before a 1 1/2-hour lightning delay came. The second half kicked off at 10:35 p.m.
Beaver Local recovered the second-half kickoff at the St. Clairsville 22-yard line after the Red Devils did not cover the kick. The Beavers attempted a 37-yard field goal that was wide left.
The game was halted again later in the third quarter due to lightning.
The Beavers scored first on a Wade Foster's 19-yard reception from Taylor Johnston. Kaleb Mays' extra-point kick made it 7-0 with 6:58 left in the first quarter.
St. Clairsville came right back to go ahead with 1:23 to play in the first quarter.
Beaver Local is at East Liverpool on Thursday.
Strasburg-Franklin 42, Leetonia 0
LEETONIA -- Leetonia dropped its 23rd straight contest with a 42-0 loss to Strasburg-Franklin on Friday.
Leetonia (0-3) will play Valley at Liberty next Saturday in the EOAC opener.
The Tigers are 2-1.
Caldwell 43, Wellsville 0
CALDWELL -- Caldwell marched past Wellsville, 43-0, Friday at the Noble County Fairgrounds.
Wellsville fell to 0-3 and will be at Southern to start Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play next Friday.
Caldwell is 2-1.
West Branch 48, Girard 7
GIRARD -- There is no stopping West Branch right now.
The Warriors dominated Girard 48-7 on Friday to move to 3-0 on the season.
Branch outgained the Indians 416 to 117. Boston Mulinix had 138 yards rushing with a touchdown. Jeremiah Thomas added 130 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Garin Harlan had five carries for 27 yards and a touchdown.
Thomas completed 10 of 12 passes for 136 yards.
Lukas Block had a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Dom Slimon, Harlan and Gavin Gregory had sacks.
West Branch hosts Youngstown Chaney on Friday.
St. Marys 28, Oak Glen 0
ST. MARYS, W.Va. -- Oak Glen's football team slipped to 0-2 after a loss to St. Marys on Friday.
St. Marys scored two touchdowns in each the second and fourth quarters to pull away.
Oak Glen had a balanced rushing effor with Devan Juszczak getting 41 yards on 10 careis, Josh Maher 33 yardes on three carries, Evan Clouston 28 yards on five carries and Cayden Richie 12 yards on two carries.
Cameron Carter completed two of four passes -- both to Glen Adams -- for 16 yards.
The game had a half-hour lightning delay for an extended halftime.
Leaders of the Oak Glen defense were Chrsitian Chappell with an interception, KameronHebrok with 16 tackles including 13 solos, Noah Schmidt with 11 solos and four assists, Sam Wright six solos and four assists and Lucas Zoellers a sack.
Oak Glen hosts Edison next Friday.
