DALTON -- Southern's softball team reached the end of the line as it dropped a 6-0 decision to Mogadore in a Div. IV district final on Thursday at Howard J. Wenger Field.

Southern was limited to one hit -- a single by Kennedy Lewis -- in the defeat.

Mogadore's Katie Gardner struck out 13 and walked two in the win. She threw 111 pitches and 71 for strikes.

Southern finishes at 11-8 and reached the district championship game for the first time.

The Wildcats tallied four runs in the bottom of the second to get going and never looked back.

Ensinger threw 94 pitches and 58 were for strikes. She also hit two batters.

Mogadore, the No. 2 seed, is 17-6. The Wildcats will meet No. 13 seed Canton Central Catholic at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Roehm Athletic Complex in Berea in the regional semifinal.
