Rebels set up rematch with Columbiana
COLUMBIANA — The last time Crestview’s baseball team played Columbiana it lost 3-0 at Eastwood Field and followed it up with a seven-game losing streak.
The Rebels will get a chance to right some wrongs on Wednesday after beating Waterloo 4-0 in a Div. III sectional opener.
Crestview (11-9) will play Columbiana (16-10) at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Firestone Park in a sectional final.
The Rebels managed just two hits against the Vikings –an Ethan Feezle double and a signle by Max Hawkins — to earn the win.
On the mound Feezle struck out six and walked none. He threw 107 pitches so he won’t be available on Wednesday. Feezle was the losing pitcher in the regular season loss to No. 11 seed Crestview. Columbiana, the sixth seed, is expected to throw Alex Eusebio on Wednesday. Eusebio was the winning pitcher in the game at Eastwood Field.

Salem 2, Kent Roosevelt 1
SALEM — Cyle Burt’s walk-off double with one out in the bottom of the seventh lifted Salem to a 2-1 win over Kent Roosevelt on Monday in a Div. II sectional opener.
Carson Rhodes threw 111 pitches while giving up one hit, striking out nine and walking one in the complete-game victory for the 15th seeded Quakers. Rhodes also had three hits from his spot at the top of the Quaker order.
Troy Gibson added a single and double. Colin Riesen chipped in a hit and RBI.
Salem (12-10) will travel to No. 5 Mogadore Field on Wednesday for the sectional final.

Lakeview 10, East Palestine 0
CORTLAND — Lakeview used five innings to eliminate East Palestine 10-0 in a Div. III sectional opener on Monday.
Eat Palestine, the 20th seed, falls to 6-10.
Jacob Shaker struck out eight and limited East Palestine to one hit. Nathan Paolucci went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs for the winners.
Lakeview, the 12th seed, will travel to No. 3 seed LaBrae on Wednesday for the sectional final.
Lake Center 4, West Branch 3
HARTVILLE — Lake Center Christian tamed West Branch 4-3 in 11 innings in a regular season contest on Monday.
West Branch was limited to singles by Hunter Shields, Jeremiah Thomas and Charlie Biskup.
Gavin Bell took the loss with three strikeouts and two walks in 3 1/3 innings.
Third-seeded West Branch (19-6) will host No. 18 seed Jefferson Area in a Div. II sectional final on Wednesday.
