Pidgeon leads Wittenberg
SEWICKLEY HEIGHTS, Pa. -- Former West Branch High standout Nick Pidgeon led the Wittenberg University golf team to a 33-stroke victory at the Win Palmer Cup on Tuesday.
Wittenberg, ranked No. 15 in NCAA Division III, had rounds of 279-274 for a 7-under 553 at Allegheny Country Club. Penn State Altoona was second out of six teams with a 586 (298-288).
Pidgeon tied Westminster freshman Tyler Hager for first place in the 36-man field with a 3-under-par 137 (68-69). Hager shot rounds of 71 on Monday and a tournament-best 66 Tuesday, winning medalist honors with a three-foot birdie putt on the fourth playoff hole.
Wittenerg freshman Caleb Domitrovich, a McDonald High School graduate, was 18th with a 9-over 149 (72-77).
Wittenberg return to action Sunday at the DePauw Spring Clash at Pebblebrook Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University quarterback and Canfield High School graduate Broc Lowry entered the transfer protocol on Tuesday.
Lowry appeared in four games for the Hoosiers in 2023 and had one completion for 8 yards on a punt fake against Maryland. He was listed fourth on the QB depth chart in the spring.
Indiana has at least three quarterbacks with at least three years of eligibility remaining. The starting quarterback is likely to be 2022 Mid-American Conference offensive player of the year Kurtis Rourke of Ohio University.
Lowry led Canfield to the 2022 Ohio Division III state championship.
