West Branch and United will try to continue their 2023 football seasons as they host second-round playoff games at 7 p.m.
Fourth-seeded West Branch (10-1) hosts fifth-seeded Streetsboro (10-1) in a Division IV, Region 13 quarterfinal.
Fourth-seeded United (10-1) entertains fifth-seeded Cuyahoga Heights (9-1) in a Division VI, Region 21 quarterfinal.
The Golden Eagles are 27-6 over the last three seasons and 34-9 over the last four seasons, one win off the best marks in school history. The Eagles were 28-2 from 1976-79 and 35-4-1 from 1976-79 under coach Fred Johnson.
The Warriors have already set school marks with a 35-4 record the last three seasons and 43-6 over the last four seasons. The previous school marks for victories were were 32-2 from 1992-94 and 42-4 from 1991-94 under coach Jim Laut.
