TULSA, Okla. -- Oak Glen High School graduate and West Virginia University junior Peyton Hall had a rough start to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on Thursday.
Hall, who had two injury defaults to end last week's Big 12 tournament, suffered a 16-5 major decision loss to Illinois' Dan Braunagel in the 165-pound opening round. Braunagel had beaten Hall by a 7-6 decision on Dec. 29 at the Midlands Championships.
Hall (23-5) was to take part in the first consolation in the evening session.
