Felton earns PAC honor
BETHANY, W.Va. -- Bethany College senior Riley Felton was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Scholar-Athlete of the Month for November.
Felton, a 2019 graduate of Southern Local High School, led the sixth-seeded Bison to the 2022 PAC women's volleyball title, clinching the championship in an exciting four-game match against top-seeded Thiel.
The 6-foot-1 middle hitter hit 0.412 during the month of November on the Bison playoff run and totaled 15 blocks. She earned All-PAC second-team honors as the Bison finished with a 17-13 record.
Felton is a psychology major with a 3.64 grade-point average and has been named to PAC academic honor roll three times.
On campus, she is a member of the Black Student Union, as well as the Psychology Club. She also is a coach for the Ohio Valley Volleyball Company, as well as volunteering in her hometown.
LaBrae sweeps Crestview
SALEM -- LaBrae swept Crestview in varsity bowling action Friday at Hunt Club Lanes.
The LaBrae boys had a 2,471-2,206 win as Nate Goldner had a 226 game and 429 series. For Crestview, Brody Brubaker had a202 game and 386 series and Peyton Mellott a 380 series.
In the girls match, LaBrae had a 2,062-1,517 win as Sarah Reakes had a 190 game and 349 series.
For the Rebels, Brianne Campbell had a 137 game and 265 series and Abbey Emch a 229 series.
LaBrae also won the junior varsity girls match, 1,455-1,321. For Crestview, Caitlyn Robb had a 153 game and 277 series and Aubrey Unkefer a 262 series.
West Branch nips Salem
SALEM -- Grayden Grimm scored with 3.5 seconds left to give West Branch a 42-41 win over Salem in freshman action Thursday.
Zach Coffee had 15 points to lead West Branch. Caden West added nine points and Chase Gee six.
For the Quakers, Deontay Steele had 16 points and Cletis Monroy nine.
West Branch improves to 3-1 on the season and will play at Canton South on Saturday.
