United girls, Salem boys score shutouts

HANOVERTON -- United's girls soccer team defeated Bristol 6-0 on Tuesday.

United is 5-4 and will travel to face Ursuline on Saturday at Youngstown State.

For the Eagles, Allison Irwin had two goals and an assist. Addyson Blazer added a goal and one assist. Natalie Shipley and Rachael Rhodes had one goal each. Aubrey Benner, Grace Hall and Natalie Summers also had assists.

Bristol also had an own goal.

Salem 7, Carrollton 0

SALEM -- Salem's boys soccer team whipped Carrollton 7-0 on Tuesday in an Eastern Buckeye Conference match.

AR Berlin had a hat trick for the Quakers, while Tim Stephens, Cameron Kelm, Troy Gibson and Darin Fletcher also scored.

Gibson also had three assists. Lance Bailey added two assists and Stephens one.

Colin Reisen had his fourth shutout of the season.

Salem is 6-1-2 and 3-0 in the league.

Salem is at Liberty today.

East Liverpool 1, St. Clairsville 1

EAST LIVERPOOL -- East Liverpool and St. Clairsville played to a 1-1 tie on Tuesday at Patterson Field.

East Liverpool's Ayden Wright scored on an assist from Nate Schwerha with 12 minutes left to tie the game.

St. Clairsville scored on a Parker Galloway goal early in the second half.

East Liverpool's Jake Smith had eight saves in goal.

The Potters are 4-4-1.

East Liverpool will host Steubenville Central on Thursday.

South Range 8, Niles 0

NILES -- South Range defeated Niles 8-0 on Tuesday at Bo Rein Stadium.

Logan Butcher had his second hat trick of the season, while Matt Fryfogle, Jackson Yeagly, Jack Staffeld, Mason Naples and Preston McCabe each added a goal. Assists came from Jackson Yeagly, Caden McConnnel, Logan Butcher, Jack Staffeld and Ryan Eicher.

The Raiders had a commanding 25 shots on goal and their keeper Colin Engle had two saves. The Raiders move to 4-4-1 and host Hubbard this Thursday.
