HANOVERTON -- United's softball team swept East Palestine in a doubleheader on Saturday with 11-0 and 12-2 victories.
Tori Firth threw a no-hitter in the first game as Mady Lucas caught a pop fly to end the game.
Colby Burton added a double and two RBIs to lead the Eagles. Taylor Cope had a single and three RBIs. Brielle Rose added two hits and an RBI.
In the second game, Tori Firth had a home run and single. Mady Lucas had a double, two singles and two RBIs, while Burton had four hits and an RBI.
Taylor Foster had a hit and an RBI for the Bulldogs.
United is 8-1 and 6-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. The Eagles will travel to Columbiana for a key league matchup today, weather pending.

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. -- Lizzie Kell tossed a one-hitter and had two hits plus two RBIs as Oak Glen ripped Wheeling Park 8-0 on Saturday.
Oak Glen is 18-2 and will host East Fairmont on Monday. A OVAC Class 4A tournament game against Indian Creek will be played on Tuesday at the I-470 Complex. Maddie McKay and Makayla Zoellers added doubles and Kenna Calahan and Sydney Brown had triples.

SALEM -- Salem's softball team turned in wins over Struthers and Girard on Saturday.
Against Struthers, the Quakers exploded for eight runs in the fifth inning. Channing Toy had two hits for the Quakers, while Rylie Troy struck out 11.
Against Girard, Mack Zumbar had an infield walk-off single to beat the Indians 7-6 in nine innings.
Zumbar had three hits and three RBIs in the win.
Salem is 8-9 and hosts Canton South on Tuesday.

Morgan Lively had four hits and four RBIs for the Devils in the first game. Anna Marshalek and Justyce Vrable had two doubles each.
In the second game, McKenna Dailey had four hits and four RBIs. Justyce Vrable had a home run and triple with three RBIs.

The Potters were no-hit in the first game.
East Liverpool hosts Brooke on Monday.

BROOKFIELD -- Crestview brought the heat with a five-run sixth to down the Brookfield Warriors 7-4 on Saturday.
Crestview is 9-4 and 7-1 in the league and will host Garfield on Monday.
Kaedyn Sutton had a double, home run and an RBI for the winners. Karysn Moore added a home run and four RBIs.

STOW -- South Range split a pair of games on Saturday at the Doug Hawkins Memorial at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
The Raiders fell to Tallmadge 8-7 in the opener. Reagan Irons, Kelly Szolek and Gretchen Bartels had two hits each for the Raiders. Julie Stachowicz had a double and an RBI. Samantha Susany had a triple.
South Range used a balanced attack to beat the hosts Stow-Munroe Falls 10-0 in five innings.
Szolek. Madison Dado and Jamie Feren had two hits each for the winners.
South Range is 10-3 and is at Hubbard on Monday.
