Rebels capture fourth

COLUMBIANA — Jack Yerkey scored 11 of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter to go along with 10 rebounds as Crestview downed Brookfield, 56-51, Friday.
The Rebels improve to 4-7 overall and 2-1 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Tier. The Warriors drop to 4-2 and 2-2 in the league.
Drake Golden added 18 points and six rebounds and Tony Perorazio added 11 points. Anthony Cusick had a nice floor game with seven assists, four coming in the second quarter.
Crestview’s biggest lead in the first half was six points at 18-12 on a Connor Hughes jumper.
The game was close throughout with Crestview leading 14-10 in the first quarter, 25-24 at halftime, 41-35 after three quarters.
The Warriors — who start three sophomores and one junior — got 17 points from Donovan Pawlowski and 11 points from senior Haden Gibson. Six-five sophomore Isaiah Jones added nine points.
Crestview also won the junior varsity game, 42-38. Nick Novak had 13 points and Wyatt Miller nine for the Rebels.
Crestview will play at LaBrae on Tuesday.

COLUMBIANA — Lisbon knocked off Columbiana 58-47 on Friday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
Ryan McCullough had 23 points, four assists and four steals to lead the winners, while Blayne Brownfield added 22 points and seven rebounds. McCullough also broke the Lisbon career three-point record of 152. He now has 153 after five on Friday. Hunter Sturgeon had eight boards.
Lisbon is 8-2 and 5-0 in the EOAC. Columbiana falls to 1-8, 0-4.
Dalton Whitehair had 13 points for the Clippers, while Tony Kocanjer had 10 points. Nick Million had 10 rebounds. Anthony Hall added five assists.
Columbiana won the jayvee game 48-15. Alex Eusebio had 14 points for the Clippers. Austin Dailey had 10 points for the Blue Devils.
Lisbon hosts Western Reserve Tuesday. Columbiana hosts Lowellville on Tuesday.

LORE CITY– The Southern boys basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday, falling to Buckeye Trail 50-48 in overtime. The Indians are now 6-1 on the season.
For Southern, Brady Ketchum finished with 12 points and Brad Sloan added 10 points. Sloan added seven rebounds and five steals.
For Buckeye, Franko Rome had a game-high 24 points.
Southern will host Heartland Christian on Tuesday.

EAST PALESTINE — Valley Christian jumped on East Palestine out of the gate to down Valley 54-26 on Friday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.
The Eagles led 14-6 after a quarter and 33-11 at the half.
Dominic Wycoff scored 12 for the Bulldogs.
Valley won the jayvee game, 38-11.

BELOIT — West Branch used a 27-13 second half to beat Alliance, 53-37, in Eastern Buckeye Conference play Friday.
The Warriors improve to 10-3 overall and 4-3 in the EBC.
West Branch’s Jaxon Hendershott hit five three-pointers for a game-high 17 points. Dru DeShields added 10 points and Jed Smith eight.
There was no junior varsity game.
The Warriors are back in action next Saturday when they host Youngstown Mooney.
