A deserved vote

Editor: Lisbon residents will be asked again this November to vote for an issue that touches almost everyone in the community. A 3-mill renewal issue is being placed on the ballot by the Lisbon Cemetery Board. Support by voting will be very much appreciated. It will not raise taxes. We have been residents in the community for nearly 50 years. As is the case with many of you, we plan to be buried in this cemetery. Others of you will be making that decision sometime in the future. The poultry issue

Editor: I am writing just a few days before the upcoming election to make one more effort to ensure that the residents of the city of Columbiana (Columbiana and Mahoning County) are aware and understand what they are being asked to vote on, whether for or against keeping live poultry in residential zones (neighborhoods). Cemetery support

Editor: As mayor of Lisbon, I would like to draw your attention to the Lisbon Village Cemetery renewal levy on the ballot in the upcoming election. In my mind, the cemetery is on of the village treasures of which we should be very proud. The cemetery is beautifully maintained and operated very effectively and efficiently. This renewal levy generates the majority of the funds of the day to day operations of the cemetery. The other sources of revenue are: sale of burial sites, opening/closing costs and other services related to burials. The number of burials varies from year to ...
