This year’s theme, “Engaging New Voices,” builds on the idea that we are stronger together, and that new partners and community members are needed to expand sexual assault prevention efforts. Editor: Teenagers of today are constantly getting a bad reputation. Too often the good they do goes unnoticed. But, there is hope for today’s youth! The Youth Group of the First Christian Church in Kensington showed the community just what Earth Day means to them. Though small in number, the six members made a valiant effort to clean up their town. Editor: I am not writing this on anyone’s behalf or request. I am not a mouthpiece for anyone but myself as a voter. Uncivil matters

Editor: Does anyone know the answer as to who should enforce a letter to the neighbor in which the lawyer wrote to them? The neighbor put posts beside my right of way, decreasing the width from 12 feet to 9 feet. I called the sheriff’s department and they said it was a civil matter, get a lawyer. So now the lawyer has written them a letter stating if he persists in interfering with my right of way, we have no choice but to file action of injunctive relief and private nuisance. Editor: Today’s latest rendition of the Columbiana County Republican Party’s election brouhaha gives one good reason to register as an independent. It has always been interesting to me that both parties seem to feel that we, the voters, lack the intelligence and good sense to make our own choices. I am not an attorney or a politician, however, for the past 13 years I have served on the Columbiana County Republican Central Committee representing Butler Township north precinct.
