Editor: With Ohio’s current drug problem, it is very troubling to learn that the Democratic nominee for state treasurer, Rob Richardson, would support a constitutional amendment that has the potential to enable to flow of more drugs into our communities. But I think there is hope with Republican nominee, Robert Sprague, who opposes State Issue 1. Sprague has noted Issue 1 not only endangers Ohio’s fight against drugs but puts families at risk. Editor: Mobs or Jobs. I’m not the first to write this phrase but when I first saw it in print it stuck in my head as being an exquisitely cogent and concise summation of the choice we electorate have to make Nov. 6. While the Democratic Party is no longer the one your parents or grandparents knew (which in and of itself is not necessarily a bad thing as all things must evolve or eventually fade away), the party has through its ineffectual and irresponsible policies and actions of recent years devolved into a desperate and feckless morass, simultaneously unctuous and bellicose. ...

Editor: I taught full time in the Crestview school system for 29 years and have been a volunteer teacher for the past 25 years. Teaching has been very rewarding for me personally. Based on my experience, I know how great the teachers, administrators and students are in our system. I also know we must either repair or replace the supporting infrastructure. Edison students need your support

Editor: Voters will be heading to the polls on Nov. 6 to cast their ballots for a variety of races and issues. Those who reside in the Edison Local School District will decide on Issue 2, a 5.9-mill renewal operating levy that would keep the district on track and replace funding that it lost and will potentially be losing in the near future. Edison includes two elementary buildings and a junior-senior high school and works to give an estimated 1,500 students the best education possible so they can attain success in life. Treated like dogs

Editor: Times have changed. After reading the Oct. 16 article on the commissioners and the dog pound, it took me back to the late 1990s when the commissioners were doing the same thing of treating the employees that they were in charge of with no respect at all and especially the treatment of the now deceased dog warden of 24 years.
