Consider the Foster Grandparent Program

To the editor: My name is Allison Blevens, and I work with the Corporation of Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD). I wanted to share an exciting opportunity through our Foster Grandparent Program, which pairs adults with local schools to help children who need educational help in the classroom. This program is open to adults aged 55 and older who meet income eligibility requirements. To the editor: Ohio’s natural gas and oil industries have continued to drive economic development in the Buckeye State. This means a flourishing job market and economy, funding for community infrastructure, and energy reliability. Cleveland State University found that total upstream investments were up $615 million in the second half of 2024 when compared to the first half. Aktion Club of Columbiana County expresses gratitude

To the editor: The Aktion Club of Columbiana County, a group for adults with developmental disabilities supported by Salem Kiwanis, extends its heartfelt gratitude for the generous donations made to the Columbiana County Humane Society and the Columbiana County Dog Pound. We collected from Oct.15- to Dec. 17 and were truly touched by the outpouring of support, which included over 300 pounds of pet food, blankets, towels, handmade pet beds, leashes, collars, toys, laundry detergent, and essential cleaning supplies. Raising of property tax raises his ire

To the editor: We just received our property tax statement and I now see why there is a movement to get the property taxes issue on the November ballot. The raising of any taxes should not be left up to any one persons. It should be up to the voters. If the state needs more money, put an issue on the ballot and not just raise the property taxes. I have heard about elderly people in the northern part of the state not having enough money to pay for the property taxes and the commissioners telling them they will have to find another place to live. Support HB 419 and the SAVE22 license plate

To the editor: In the State of Ohio, organizations have the opportunity to create license plates that reflect their cause, offering a unique medium for spreading awareness and raising support. Recently, during the 136th General Assembly, State Representative Matt Kishman (R) and State Representative Jodi Salvo (R) introduced Ohio House Bill 419 in front of the Transportation Committee. HB 419 will create a SAVE22 license plate. SAVE22 is a nonprofit organization that supports stopping suicide in veterans, first responders, and active-duty service members.
