A day of joy for St. Paul parishioners

To the editor: This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 That day was celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church on Sunday afternoon, June 18, at a mass of thanksgiving. To give glory and praise to God. For on this day one of our own celebrated his first mass as a priest: Frederick Schlueter. Father Frederick Schlueter was ordained a priest on June 17 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown by Bishop Bonnar. To the editor: Issue 1 has nothing to do with “protecting” Ohio’s Constitution and has everything to do with protecting the status quo. And what is the status quo? Annexation – Detachment

The Ohio Revised Code provides the procedures to not only annex lands from a township to a municipality but to detach lands from a municipality back to a township. This precisely happened long ago between the City of Salem and the Township of Perry, and it happened in a new development started in the 1920s called “Salem Heights” containing both the north portion along Benton Road and the south portion across US 62 and SR 173.
