Setting the record straight — East Palestine Country Club is here to stay and investing in the future
EDITOR’S NOTE: The real estate transfers published in the Feb. 21 edition inadvertently listed the East Palestine Country Club selling a golf course to VBR Land LLC. The following response was published as clarification on the club’s website.
Dear East Palestine Country Club Members and Friends,
We want to address some questions and concerns that have circulated following recent local news coverage. Let us be absolutely clear: The East Palestine Country Club has NOT sold its golf course. We are open, thriving, and more committed than ever to serving our members and the surrounding community.
What Actually Happened
The Club recently completed a sale of approximately 20 acres of land to a conservation buyer. This acreage was a rugged, steep parcel along the North Fork of the Little Beaver Creek — terrain that was never part of our playable course and, frankly, unusable for club operations. The buyer acquired the land for conservation purposes, contributing to the ongoing protection of the Little Beaver Creek watershed and its natural landscape. We were proud to support that mission.
How the Proceeds Are Being Put to Work — For You
The EPCC Board of Directors has already earmarked every dollar from the sale for direct reinvestment into club infrastructure. This is not revenue leaving the club — it is coming right back to improve your experience on property.
Phase 1 — Irrigation System Overhaul (Q2 2026): Our top infrastructure priority is a long-overdue renovation of the property-wide irrigation and sprinkler system. Phase 1 kicks off in the second quarter of 2026 and includes a brand-new main pump, pump housing, and the full electrical components that feed the entire system. This multi-phase project will be carried out over the next several years, ensuring the course stays in excellent condition season after season.
What Else Is Coming in 2026
We are excited about the road ahead. Here is a look at additional improvements and initiatives arriving for the 2026 season:
Clubhouse Updates: Continued modernization and entertainment enhancements to the Clubhouse, making it an even better gathering place for members and guests.
All-New Hole Signage: Fresh, brand-new hole signs will be unveiled at the start of the 2026 golf season — a small but meaningful upgrade that members and visitors will appreciate right away.
Junior Golf Initiative: We are launching a new Junior Golf Program at EPCC in 2026, designed to welcome any and all area youth who want to learn and love this great game. More details to follow — we could not be more excited to grow the next generation of golfers right here at home.
Thank You — and Rest Assured
2025 was another outstanding year for the East Palestine Country Club, and 2026 is shaping up to be even better. EPCC remains what it has always been: a welcoming, publicly accessible course with unmatched views and affordable golf for members and guests alike. We felt it was important to speak directly with you rather than let misinformation linger.
We appreciate your continued support and loyalty. See you on the course!
Warmly,
The EPCC Board of Directors
East Palestine Country Club
