As I hear sirens, I am reminded of the fateful night of February 3, 2023 in my town of East Palestine. Please allow me the space for the following open leter to the voters of the following communities:
To the voters in Center Township, Lisbon Village, Franklin Township, Summittville Village, East Liverpool City, North Georgetown Fire District, Knox Township, Homeworth Fire District and East Palestine: I am writing to urge you to vote for your fire levies as published in the Morning Journal on A10 on Thursday, Oct. 19.
I realize monies are tight with rising prices at the gas pump and the grocery stores but these levies are renewals. No new money will be in your taxes for these levies. No one can ever predict when there will be a need for these selfless servants. Many are volunteers and have other jobs but still serve the community to save our homes and our communities.
Mnay fire departments came to help in my community on the night of the train derailment. I am certain our department would assist in yhour time of need. This is my thank you by asking please for a "Yes" vote for the fire levy.
