Appreciated Christmas opinion piece

2 min read

To the editor:

We are early risers and following our morning workout at our beautiful Wellness Center here at Copeland Oaks, we return home to a sumptuous breakfast and our ritual of reading the Morning Journal.

Page A4 is my favorite and I was pleased to see your annual Christmas message to all Columbiana County Newspapers (Morning Journal, Salem News, The Review) readers.

As I read aloud your four-column story, my wife and I relived our youth and the magic of many Christmases from years gone by. J.D., you are a marvelous writer and as we switched back and forth reading aloud to each other, we thanked God that this country still has those, like you, who tell the true story of our Savior's birth.

Thank you for helping to make our Christmas this year bright and joyful. Your many paragraphs beginning with "Merry Christmas" recall so many of our wishes for all mankind. Memories of the Depression, WWII, loneliness of serving away from home, remembering the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem and especially the bright light of the USA in a world torn by prejudice and war.

J.D., a simple "thank you" for sharing your memories and genuine stories with all of us. Columbiana County is blessed to have page A4 of our favorite newspaper, the Morning Journal, with a true patriot as our executive editor.

Merry Christmas to you, your family and all the dedicated workers at the Morning Journal, that make your newspaper so special.

RON and BEV PRICE,

Sebring
