You may not be aware of this but on April 16, 2013,an electrical power station in California was attacked. The press and federal government covered up the story --it was only reported by the Wall Street Journal.
The assault started after midnight. Phone lines were cut and then assault rifles shot out the cooling systems of the transformers. The shooting lasted only 20 minutes and they knocked out 17 giant transformers that supplied electricity to Silicon Valley. They vanished a minute before police arrived.
There was no blackout because Pacific Gas and Electric was able to reroute the power. You guessed it: our government thinks it was the work of vandals, kind of like Benghazi. Electricity is to us like the buffalo was to American Indians. Katrina showed us what it would be like to have no electricity, food and water. Things got pretty ugly in New Orleans.
The TV show "Revolution" is not that far-fetched. All electrical devices can be rendered permanently unworkable by a blast of an electromagnetic pulse. It would be wise to store some food and water, probably enough for a month per person. It's like the Boy Scouts say "be prepared." New Orleans was not, and Uncle Sam surely won't be, since he is looking for vandals. I wrote the above in Feb. 2014, and put it on the internet.
You need to read the book " Lights Out," published in 2019 by former newsman Ted Koppel. He believes it's not if our grids get taken out but when. Not by only detonating a nuclear device above our country, but he believes by easily hacking the grids computers from the internet.
Our enemies: China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, or terrorists, according to him, now easily have the capabilities to hack our system. They also can hide who was the attacker. So it can take years for us to retaliate. If we even can. He recommends storing enough food and water for six months, saying the whole United States could lose power for even a whole year.
The last three chapters of his book are on the Mormons. They evidently recommend to all their members: six months of food and water for preparation for the end of times of the Bible. I am not trying to scare you, but to inform you of an impending danger to our country.
I definitely would not depend on Congress, so you can ignore the danger, or you could store food and water. What's nice about our country is you have the freedom to decide.
