Congrats to the Columbiana County voters

1 min read

To the editor:

I would like to congratulate Columbiana County voters. According to unofficial results from the Ohio Secretary of State, the August 2 special primary had very low voter turnout across the state, only 7.93%.

Columbiana County was 1 of only 14 counties with 10% or greater voter turnout. Neighboring counties, Mahoning and Stark had 9.08% and 5.69%, respectively.

In a primary election that was for state legislative races only, with few contested races and much confusion about when the special primary was and the purpose for it, Columbiana County voters still came out to vote in greater numbers than most of the rest of the state.

I think this says a lot about voters in our county and the value they place on their right to vote. I can't wait to see what the voter turnout will be on November 8th!
