To the editor:
I would like to commend the staff of the Salem News and Morning Journal for their outstanding coverage of area high school graduations.
Recent issues of the newspapers have been filled with photographs of these special ceremonies. Not just a picture or two, but whole pages devoted to our area senior students. Graduations usually happen on weekends and many at the same time.
The willingness of our local newspapers to cover them so completely and thoughtfully is one of the reasons that you "just gotta love local newspapers." How the staff is able to cover these simultaneous celebrations is a tribute to their organization and dedication.
P.S. The coverage of area Memorial Day services and parades was just as amazing and appreciated. Thank you to our local newspaper staff members for all that you do to promote a sense of community.
