Refuting Witcover column

By Other Voices 2 min read

To the Editor:

Jules Witcover does have a way to upset me. In my favorite newspaper, the Morning Journal, Feb. 18 issue, Mr. Witcover states, "Did Russia just blink on Ukraine threat?" Implying that Biden stopped Russia's potential invasion of Ukraine. How does the Biden administration decisions on foreign and domestic policy stack up with their one-year history of decisions?

Let's take a look. Every foreign and domestic policy decision Biden and his administration made, over the last year, was actually the wrong decision based on what's good for the USA. Afghanistan, energy, southern border, inflation, COVID-19, violent crime, a total debt that exceeds our annual GDP and just a few days ago Biden slaps Israel in the face by stopping the EastMed Pipeline. This proposed pipeline, supported by the Trump administration, would have given Europe an alternative to its heavy dependence on Russia gas. A marvelous gift to Putin. Sort of like canceling our  XL pipeline and opening the Nord Stream II pipeline from Russia to Germany.

How can one administration get so many important decisions wrong and still have opinion writers, like Jules Witcover, strongly support the administration. And, while we're at it, what is the motivation of this administration to make so many bad decisions for us, the USA? Maybe an investigation is due to determine just that. No administration is dumb enough, in my humble opinion, to make so many anti-American decisions without some motivation. Interesting!

Keep up the good work Jules and continue to give us more ammunition that will help us rid our country of these self-serving politicians. November can't come soon enough!
