A dare for union members to vote for Biden-Harris

To the editor:

I dare union members from every union and all employees receiving health insurance from employers to vote for Biden-Harris.

Remember when Biden-Harris raised their hands for Medicare for All? Medicare is 80/20. Additional health benefits cost those on Medicare additional money. Also remember Biden thinks Obamacare needs saved. This is my Obamacare nightmare. It first started with Obama’s lie: “If you like your insurance you can keep your insurance.”

I was dropped by my insurance the day Obamacare took effect. I had $1,000 deductible. Paid $232 a month and my doctors and hospital accepted it. I asked why I was dropped and was told that Obama needed to sign an executive order for me to keep it and he didn’t. My husband and I own our own business and had no choice but to get coverage through Obama’s Market Place. I was told all plans go through the Market Place. I don’t think the public realizes what it is like for independent contractors and business owners to get health coverage through the Market Place.

The first year, plans were limited, had higher deductibles than I had and was over $400 a month. Year two, plans went to four choices, deductibles were even higher and our premium was over $600 for each of us. We did not qualify for subsidies which were nothing more than taxpayers paying part of your premium.

Year three, there were two horrible companies to choose from. Deductibles were $6,000 to $7,000 and prescriptions wouldn’t be covered until the deductible was met. The premium was now $700 to $900 month each.

I now had insurance that no local hospitals would take and had to drive to Warren if I needed to go the hospital.

I realized as each year passed I was paying for others to stay home and get free insurance while I subsidized them. There were free plans in the Market Place with no deductibles for people with little to no income. I was penalized for being a productive member of society while others were handed better insurance then I had before Obamacare. I asked a representative of the Market Place if I qualified for a subsidy and then got a job or even a second job what would happen to my subsidy. She said, “No you don’t want to do that you won’t get your subsidy.” Do you understand what I just said? A government agency told an American citizen not to make yourself better, don’t do better, don’t work harder, don’t get a job or you won’t get a government subsidy.

Since my third year of coverage I canceled my insurance. Deductibles were now $10,000. Premiums were $1,000 to $1,200 each and there was one company to choose from. As of today, I have no health insurance because Democrats won’t give up on Obamacare.

Until President Trump signed an executive order eliminating the mandate, we paid over $920 each on our federal taxes each year as a penalty for choose to no longer buy Obama’s rip-off insurance.

I have now warned you of things to come. Now I dare you to vote for Biden-Harris.
