Encouraging support of Beaver Local Levy

To the editor:

Voters in the Beaver Local School District will see a renewal levy on

the May 7 ballot that is critical to maintaining current programs and

operations. It does not increase taxes.

The 4.61-mill emergency operating levy would generate $1.2 million annually for five years. These funds are used for day-to-day operations, including transportation, personnel, utilities and supplies.

Without these monies, the district would need to make drastic changes, including reductions in programs and staffing.

Supporting your local schools is a worthy investment that builds strong communities now and in the future.
