I have a suggestion for the layout of the newspaper. I have seen this numerous times, but it hit home more recently and I feel the need and desire to speak on behalf of all family members and the honored themselves.
For whatever reason murderers, rapists, pedophiles, drug addicts, drug dealers and whatever wrong lifestyle is lived makes the front page with what appears to be full detail about their poor decisions and choices.
I recently submitted a photo and brief biography of a decorated military airman. The day his article was printed a huge picture of a squirrel eating an acorn made the front page.
A man that has accomplished honor in his life for you and me made the third page with a condensed edited acknowledgment beside the court and jury news. In the printed newspaper version his stripes and part of his medals were even cropped off.
He and many other servicemen are very humble, but our servicemen deserve respect and honor and the front page.
Our service men excel for their country not for the public glory. But, I (and I know many more citizens) feel this deserves priority over the garbage behavior that is getting so much more acknowledgment.
It would make us (friends and family members) very proud for the Morning Journal to make a change.
Maybe all the squirrels, speaking of everybody and everything mentioned in paragraph two, could not take up priority space.
Please don't think I am writing this just because my family and I have been recent victims and want my submission changed. We would like to see a change in future priorities.
