Pretty powerful the media has gotten. Kinda makes you really think how stupid we all have sounded when you stop and take it all in. Republican, Democrat, Independent, and others. Yelling, and not talking. Walking away, not standing and listening.
We are all made of flesh and blood. We are all Americans first. Color has to be an afterthought at this point.
We are being divided by forces we watch, look at, listen to and it's in our face 24/7, but its impact is really invisible to our fast paced lives.
The media drives us. Not the Congress, not the president, not right wing or left wing groups … the media. It permeates our whole life, every day, all around us. On TV. In print. On line. On radio. In our commercials, in our sitcoms and evening shows, and even big box office. We never get a break from it.
Since when does common sense and the thought of what's really wrong/right go out the window because of those that chose to use us as a lightning rods for ratings.
We have to stop. Listen to others, stop yelling, stop looking at the bad before the good, the hope, the promise of sincerity. Start trying to put a real effort into trusting each other, coming to common ground, believing there is good people out there that are willing to work together.
We're going down a really bad path.
We have to stop. Say a prayer to God, appreciate the real sacrifices others have made for us, and again get back to loving our country and our flag and the symbols of freedom they represent to hundreds of millions around the world that look to us for guidance and reverence.
We need to put our feet down and tell these media bureaucracies enough. We need to tell them to look into the good side of our country and present us with the truth from both sides, not what they choose to place before us like a steak dinner to swallow for ratings and market share. We're people, not numbers. We have to let them know that.
We need to unplug once in a while and focus on us. Focus on our country. Focus on our families and on the issues that we face in an adult like manner with real honest debate. All the while being considerate of others, their beliefs, their culture, their opinions, as well as obeying the law, and respecting its purpose in the process.
We as parents are especially liable for our behavior in that we are the biggest source of humanity our children look to and imitate. They, (our children), they are the epitome of us.
We need to get back to putting them, our flag, our anthem, our country, our God, … first. Then work together on the rest as adults and as people of reason and clarity, and people of passion and love for one another.
