To tear down the 200-year-old Taste of Coun-try/Pine Tree Inn/Hanna property is a slap in the face to a community that has pride in its historic uniqueness and three-brick deep buildings.
It is not uncommon that when a company moves into an historic town, they show a commitment to the future of said town, and a promise from Discount Drug Mart that they are here to stay by not tearing down, but readapting and enlarging said building, if need be. Almost every Discount Drug Mart is brick, so why not keep it and enlarge it?
When you enter into Lisbon from the north the existing Hanna building lets you know historic can stand beside new and give class to what they will find when they go to the downtown.
Call corporate offices of Discount Drug Mart at 330-725-2340, let them know your opinion and make a difference. This place matters.
