EAST PALESTINE -- Carol A. Spratt, 85, passed away Nov. 5, 2026, at the Christian House for Assisted Living in East Palestine.
She was born Nov. 7, 1940, in Salem, Ohio, daughter of the late Roy and Wilma "Jude" (Davis) Murray.
Carol was a graduate of East Palestine High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University. She taught at East Palestine Elementary for a number of years prior to her retirement. After retirement, Carol and her husband Richard moved to Ft. Myers, Fla., where she once again found herself teaching. She was a Methodist by faith.
Carol is survived by a son, Edward (Stephanie) Spratt of Powder Springs, Ga.; a daughter, Marcie (Barry George) Barnhouse of East Palestine; four grandchildren, Aaron (Christie) Barnhouse, Corey (Victoria) Barnhouse, Gavin Spratt and Quinn Spratt as well as five great-grandchildren, Lucas, Tyler, Ariella, Landon and Quinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard earlier this year as well as her parents and a sister, Esther Bush.
Following Carol's wishes, no services will be observed.
Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
