COLUMBIANA -- Robin Sue VanFossan, 69, of Columbiana, died on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, at Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born on April 6, 1957, in Salem, daughter of the late Robert and Sylvia Heder VanFossan.
Robin was retired from her position as housekeeping supervisor for Essex Health Care in Salem. She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana and belonged to two different quilt guilds, the United Quilt Guild and School House Quilters. Robin also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cross stitching; she was fur mom to her two beloved cats, Teddy and Cagney. Robin was a beloved aunt-mom, grandma and sister. She was the head of the family; she was the person you could look to for help at any time.
Robin, with the help of her sister Vicki, stepped into the role of mom after the loss of their sister, Connie Burns, in 1983. Robin is survived by her niece and nephews "children," Tammy (Bill) Schimpf of Cuyahoga Falls, Rob Burns of Port Richey, Fla., and Steve (Becky) Burns of Cuyahoga Falls; seven honorary grandchildren, Autumn (Cameron), Cody (Kim), Adam, Nikki (Kevin), Curtis, Zach and Ryan; and eight honorary great-grandchildren, Adaline, Emerson, Everly, Alara, Luna, Edward, Romeo and Aria.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Lee Burns and Victoria Lynn VanFossan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana and for one hour prior to the funeral on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, 11 a.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home Columbiana, with Lois Jones officiating.
Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Boardman.
