Ralph Joseph Zupo

1949-2026

Ralph Joseph Zupo, 76, of Salineville, Ohio, passed away on Sept. 12, 2026.

Ralph was born on Nov. 10, 1949, in Farrell, Pennsylvania the son of the late Guy Zupo Sr. and Janet (Maiure) Zupo. He was raised in Farrell and remained closely connected to his family roots throughout his life. He had lived in Salineville, Ohio, since 1997.

Ralph was a graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and later attended and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1978-1990. Professionally, he worked at Duquesne Light Company in Pennsylvania.

Ralph was a member of the Salineville American Legion, The Salineville Volunteer Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus. He loved to go snow skiing, spent many hours outdoors in his garden. He loved to cook and spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking with and learning from his wife Sharon. He had a passion for dogs, having owned several different breeds that included: new finlands, bulldogs and german shepherds.

Ralph is survived by his siblings Jacqueline (Michael) McFarland of Auburn, Georgia; Guy F. Zupo Jr. (Toni Tharp) of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; and Lisa (Mark) Comer of Elkton, Virginia; as well as a brother-in-law, George Spon of New Castle, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Nancy McDaniel Zupo of New Market, Virginia; and his nieces and nephews: Greg (Alyson) Spon, Gina Spon Girt, Elizabeth (Wayne) Bennett, Jessica (Kirk) White, Matthew (Dr. Christa L.) McKirland, Jennifer Comer (Brandon), and Monica (Mike) Simmons; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. He had no children.

In addition to his parents Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon M. (Stetz) Zupo, with whom he married on July 4, 1997 and who passed away July 2021 at the age of 62; a sister: Virginia Zupo Spon; and a brother: John Zupo.

A memorial service will be held at the Kerr Watson Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026 at 1 p.m. with Ralph's nephew Matthew McKirland officiating.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
