Kathleen Berresford

EAST PALESTINE -- Kathleen Berresford, 97, passed away Aug. 28, 2026, at the Christian House Assisted Living in East Palestine.

Kathleen was born March 18, 1929, in East Palestine, Ohio, daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Neely) Flynn.

She was a 1947 graduate of East Palestine High School and remained an avid Bulldog football fan and was recognized for never missing a home game in 66 years.

Kathleen was a member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine where she was active in the Friendship class and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of the ESA sorority, the East Palestine Garden Club and the Twenty Literary Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Lorrie Seaver of Canfield; son, Lon (Connie) Berresford of East Palestine; eight grandchildren, Kirk Ameduri, Eric (Richelle) Ameduri, Phillip (Ami) Ameduri, Craig (Jackie) Ameduri, John (Kristen) Seaver, Kyle (Morgan) Seaver, Jessica (George) Payne and Morgan (Marco) Poole; as well as 12 great-grandchildren and two on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Algernon "Gern" Berresford in 1998; a son-in-law, John Seaver; brother, Dr. Bill Flynn; and a sister, Clare "Sis" Harding.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at Glenview on Wednesday.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Karen Christian and the staff at the Christian House for the care they showed to Kathleen.
